It was great being at the second annual ZEBS teacher’s conference. I (Jon) was joined by my Dad and two ZEBS teachers, Mr. Tobani and Mr. Mayikana. It was a 13 hour trip with much road construction, but it was well worth it. Two Union Bible Institute teachers (who also help with teaching ZEBS) taught us using the Seven Laws of the Learner, by Bruce Wilkinson. There were 26 of us in attendance.
While enjoying the teaching, I was also refreshed as the conference served as a reminder of the quality of ZEBS teachers who are incredibly focused on reaching the amaZioni in their respective areas. Meeting the delegation of teachers from Swaziland was especially significant to me. I have been hearing of the powerful work happening there, but had not previously met them. It was fascinating speaking with Jerome Sangweni, teacher and radio host of Trumpet of Zion, who told us of his interest in the history of the amaZioni movement. In fact, he is currently writing a book on the subject.
As people were leaving, a group of monkeys decided to show their faces on the campground, which is always fun to see. We are already looking forward to next year’s conference.
